Step one…two…three…four…! Tap two…three…four! On the Palm Beach State College Belle Glade campus, students are motivated to engage in clubs and activities on campus that increase their involvement and enhance their ultimate college experience beyond their academic studies. The MUSE Club, advised by English SLC tutor David Woodham, offers members a variety of musical listening and performance experiences as well as an introduction to various instruments and music theory.

Mission: The overall purpose and mission for the MUSE Club is to broaden students’ musical horizons and advise them in its structure and performance. The MUSE Club also enhances student appreciation for music from other cultures.

History: The MUSE Club began its journey in the spring of 2015 and has grown to over thirty members. At first, the club focused on familiarizing students with unusual artists from popular genres such as R&B and rock, but it has since expanded. Recently, MUSE Club members attended a performance by traditional Indian percussionist Zakir Hussain.

The MUSE Club continues to be successful and is preparing to purchase instruments for the summer and fall.  If you are interesting in finding out more about this club and what it offers, contact Club Advisor David Woodham at woodhamd@palmbeachstate.edu.
