In early April 2016 the Drama Club at Palm Beach State College held a talent show in Meldon Hall BB111 that included many different acts such as dancing, singing, acting and stad-up comedy. But only three acts had the chance to win cash prizes. The first place prize was $300 awarded to the dance group, “Netflix and Chill.” “Andre Brown, Alex Willing Hamton, and Jimare Humphries impressed the judges with the way the group had their dance moves timed perfectly with the music.

The group said that they practice three times per week, and they want to start making YouTube videos, so be on the lookout for “Netflix and Chill.” The second place winner received $200 and is a future actor/comedian named Cedric Williams. Cedric performed a spoken word and he used his acting abilities to stand out from the competitors.  Cedric said, “He has never taken any drama classes.” Yet, he has a natural talent. The third place one-hundred-dollar cash $100 prize went to Bebeto Andre a hip-hop artist. His performance had the whole crowd dancing. Andre showed a lot of confidence on stage and it paid off.

Although, there were only three winners in the show there was plenty of other acts that could have won. One honorable mention was a rapper that goes by the name of DJ.

DJ is a rapper with a message. His music was powerful and his lyrics had soul. DJ had the whole crowd singing his lyrics, and earned some new fans after his performance.
