Goncalves Aims High To Make Her Dreams a Reality

Former Beachcomber editor-in-chief Luana Goncalves has moved on from Palm Beach State’s monthly student newspaper as she aims high to make her dream of investigative reporting a reality. This past May 2011, Goncalves started interning at the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce where she writes blogs, press releases and researches current events on small business. She also photographed several of their events. By June, she was hired as a part time staff member. These days, she interviews mayors from across the state on the issues and improvements needed for small businesses.

Goncalves began attending the University of Miami this fall with a major in broadcast journalism and political science. In
addition to investigative reporting, she hopes to make documentary film.
